Overview
Vijayendra Temple is an antiquated sanctuary situated at Bethamangala, in Kolar District of Karnataka. The sanctuary reveres a leaning back statue of Ranganthaswamy (Lord Vishnu). The sanctuary history goes back to more than 5,000 years. The sanctuary has a place with the Vijayanagara period and is most likely inherent the mid twelfth century. The sanctuary is currently painted in white however giving it a crisp look. As per legends, this sanctuary was worked by saints who heard a heavenly voice requesting a sanctuary of Lord Vishnu to be worked at this spot. The sanctuary likewise houses impressive statues of Sridevi and Bhudevi.
