Overview
Vighnantaka Vinayaka is a sanctuary devoted to Lord Ganesh. The sanctuary reveres the man-headed icon of Lord Vinayaka, rather than the elephant-headed one. Vighnantaka Vinayaka murdered the evil spirit Gajamukhasura. There is a sanctum revering Lord Muruga. The engineering style of the Mahadwar, Prakar and Mukh-Mandap of the sanctuary is that of the Vijayanagar time. There are 24 segments around 12 ft high, in the Mukh-Mandap. The Navrang is 20 sq. ft.
