Overview


Shri Venkatesha Temple located in Itwari, about 3kms from Nagpur city centre is dedicated to Lord Venkatesha (the manifestation of or Lord Vishnu). The construction of the temple was started in 1963 and completed in 1968 under the guidance of Swami Shri Dharacharya.


About The Temple


The temple houses a beautiful back stone idol of God Venkatesha, adorned with gold ornaments. This idol had been brought from South India. Just below the main idol, there placed three festival statues of Lord Venkatesha made out of gold by the skilled artist from Chennai. The main entrance gate of Shri Venkatesha temple is bedecked with beautiful carvings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.


Festivals


The annual temple festival is celebrated for 3 days in the month of February which involves the ceremony of God’s wedding, special Abhishek, Kalash Pooja and Shobha Yatra. Besides this festival, Ramanuja Jayanti, Ram Navami, Krishna Janmaashtami, Vaman Jayanti, Narasingh Jayanti, etc. are also celebrated at Venkatesha temple with great prompt.

The nearest railway station is Itwari railway junction and terminus about 5 km from Nagpur Railway Station in Maharashtra state of India.
