Overview
Shirur Anantpal is a town next to Latur District of Maharashtra. The town is well known for the Anantpal sanctuary of Lord Shiva. The sanctuary was constructed in the eleventh century. The Linga of Lord Shiva and the statue of Devi Mahishasur is finely shaped out of a black stone. The sides and corners are brimming with cut statues of various divine beings and goddesses.
