- Tell us about this temple
This Mahadev temple in the village of Kumbhari in Kopargaon Taluk, is very similar to the Kokamthan temple. The cornices of this massive yet plain temple show that the construction was of a modification of the Dravidian style. In the chief shrine, an ornamental figure of Goddess Lakshmi, is placed on a throne and worshipped. In the east wall of the shrine is a pipe or mori, to admit sunlight into the temple. The pipe is placed above the linga and it is believed that it was used to drown the God with water when there was a drought.
