The Sri Bala Peetam Temple is located in Nemili and is dedicated to God Bala. Sri Bala is the child form of the powerful goddess Sri Maha Tripurasundari. Worshipping Sri Bala is said to be the base of Sri Vidhya Upasana. Tripura rahasyam, a dissertation on Saktham, signifies that goddess Maha Tripura sundari is indulgent in child-play as she portrays herself in the form of a little girl. In Lalitha Sahasranamam both "bala" (965 mantras) and "leela vinodhini" (966th mantra) reestablishes the child like form of the para brahma swarupini. The holy play of the Goddess is the functions of creation, preservation and destruction of the world. The tale of Sri Bala is explained in the "lalithopakyanam" as the 9 years old princess of a kingdom. She is in the form of a child because we tend to be free with children and open our hearts out to them and in turn become childish. We take liberty with them and indulge ourselves in Her innocent, sweet talk. Various questions arise as to what can children do but it should be noted that surapadman met his end with Balamurugan and God Krishna, in his child form killed Kakasuran and Boodhana. Children should not be taken as playful as they don't rest till they complete their task. Sri Bala in the Lalitha Sahasranamam, destroyed thirty sons of Panda Asura in the 74th line "pandaputhra vadod yukta, Bala Vikrama Nandita".
