The name of the village of Kutasa is derived from the Koteshvara Mahadeva temple that stands in the middle of the village. Built in the Hemadpanti style, this temple has a short inscription in the Devanagiri script that is yet to be deciphered. The form of a woman with her head turned back and a sword in her hand is seen beneath the letters.
