Sri Bhavani Temple is believed to have been consecrated and constructed by Sri Sacchidananda Bharati, considered as the 25th Advaitha Acharya, who initiated the celebrations of Rathotsava Festival. Another famous festival celebrated here on the Vaishaka Shukla Dwadash is the Girija Kalyanam. Sri Narasimha Bharati with the help of Somasekhara Nayaka of Keladi reconstructed this temple.
