Sri Bhadrakali Temple of Goddess Kali is located in Tudikhel, Nepal. The goddess is also called as Sri Lumadhi Bhadrakali and Lazzapith by the locals. It is one of the famous Shakti peethas in Nepal. According to mythology Goddess Bhadrakali is an incarnation of raged Sati when her father, Daksha insulted God Shiva. Her form is a furious one with three eyes and a tusk. The temple was earlier known as Mudule Thumpko. It is believed that Goddess Bhadrakali indicated to a priest to dig a hill. Upon doing so, he found an idol of the deity and built a temple in 1817.There is story told by the locals that a farmer used to work in the field near by and keep his bread aside while working. The bread used to turn into gold everyday. Hence the goddess is called Lumadhi ( golden bread in local language) Bhadrakali. There is a dance performance organised once every 12 years.
