Mahadev Mandir

Situated about 202 meters south of the village of Dhamantri, the Mahadev temple stands on a rising ground in the midst of a babul grove. Extensive Government forests lie to the south of the temple while the river Wardha flows on the eastern side. Due to constant renovation, the architectural style of the temple is no longer Hemadpanti. A spacious 20-pillared sabhamandap and a ghantaghar (bell chamber) have been constructed recently. Sri Punjabrav Manjrimasla donated a huge bell made of asta dhatu or 8 metals, weighing about 393 kgs and this bell hangs on the upper story of the temple. A Nandi idol is placed at the ground floor and a linga occupies the cellar. Idols of Ganapati, Dattatraya, Hanuman and Kapilmuni decorate the sabhamandap. There is also a white marble idol of Parvati, apart from the Mahadev linga.
