Patalpuri Temple and Akshaya Vat Patalpuri temple is situated in the Allahabad fort and is one of the holy places in Allahabad. The Patalpuri Temple, in Allahabad is one of the most famous and oldest temples not only in Allahabad but also in India. Undying banyan tree also referred to as the 'Akshayavat' is again regarded as a holy tree. About the Undying Banyan Tree, it is said that this tree would stand firm even when the entire world gets destroyed. This place of worship inside the Fort is an important place of pilgrimage. It dates from the epic age. Hiuen Tsang, the Chinese traveler who visited the Fort in 634 A.D. during his journey through India, mentioned its imprinted stone divinity. It became an underground holy place when Akbar construct his Fort over and around in 1583.

Meaning -According to this sloka, the heavenly maya of God is very complicated, but those who worship God will be able to overcome it.
