Parli Vaijnath Temple

Parli Vaijnath temple is an imposing and majestic temple situated on a hill, facing towards east having doors in south and North direction. In the entrance one can see a huge pillar less hall, which is totally made out of Sagwan wood. This temple is more famous than Kashi among the pilgrims as God Shankar is residing with Goddess Parvati. The temple was in ruins when Ahilyabai Holkar renovated the temple. The Sabhamandap and the Garbhagriha are on the same level. The famous tale of Satyawan and Sawitri is also believed to be happened here. The Vaijinath temple is one of the twelve jyotirlingas in Parli which is a very sacred as well as historical. Queen Ahilyabai Holkar reconstructed it in stone. At the entrance of the temple the grand entrance construction attracts attention of visitors. Around the temple there are three Kundas. Vaijinath is the fifth jyotirlingas in twelve most auspicious Mahadev temple called as Jyotirlingas. Rajasthani Balaji temple in gopuram style and Shani temple are the other famous temples in Parli.
