- Tell us about this temple
Pandur is a Lord Shiva temple located near Mayiladuthurai. It was named after the Pandavas. When the Kurukshetra war got over, two vigrahas of Lord Krishna were installed by the Pandavas facing each other. One for Dwapara Yuga while the other was dedicated for Kali Yuga. It is the place where the Maha Mantra for Kali Yuga was exposed to humanity. The mantra is “Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare”. There is no assurance whether there is a temple for the vigrahas or even if the vigrahas are present now.
