Overview : This temple is located about 3 Kilometres to the east from Nannilam on the north bank of Mudikondan river. Thirukondeeswaram Pasupatheeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located at Thirukondeeswaram in Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is committed to Shiva , as the moolavar managing god, in his indication as Pasupatheeswarar. His consort, Parvati, is known as Shanthanayaki. It is one of the hallowed places of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams celebrated in the early medieval Tevaram lyrics by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Tirunavukkarasar. In the month of Karthikai (November-December) on a Thursday, between 6.00 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. called Emakandam time under the aspect of Lord Yama the God of Death, the Lord offers holy water (theertham) to the devotees to cleanse them from all sins. Significance : Lord Shiva in swayambu.
