Gopal krishna temple

It is believed that a mendicant saint called Gopal Krishna built this antique temple of carved stones. The temple is named after the saint, though originally, it was a Mahadev temple. According to legend, it is believed that the saint had climbed a bel tree to avoid being seen by the Raja of Satara and had miraculously vanished from its branches. Another story goes to say that the saint's tomb is under the temple, but the story is not credible because the saint had vanished from the tree's branches. A swing at the temple supposedly rocks itself at night, adding a supernatural element to the temple.
