Overview
Devasabha Temple is located within the Kharakhia Vaidyanath temple complex in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar in Orissa. The temple stands abandoned, with no deity present inside its sanctum sanctorum. The temple is built facing the direction east. According to locals, the temple served as an assembly point of all gods and goddesses of the Kharkaria Vaidhyanath temple. Hence it is righty called the Devasabha.
About the Temple
The temple is located in the south western corner of the Kharakhia temple complex and dates back to 14th century A.D. Facing east, the temple stands on a half a meter low platform which is square in shape, measuring about 5.50 square meters.
Devasabha temple has a square shaped sanctum measuring approximately 4m wide. The frontal porch of the sanctum is 0.90m. It is pancharatha as distinguished by a central raha and pair of anuratha and kanika pagas on either sides of the raha. The temple vimana belongs to the Rekha pattern, measuring 5.73m in height from pabhaga to mastaka. The Devasabha Temple has a bada, gandi and mastaka. The bada of this temple is five folded and has a panchanga bada measuring 2.43 meters in height. At the bottom the pabhaga, there are four mouldings of khura, kumbha, pata and basanta in the base that measures 0.58m each. Tala jangha and Upara jangha measures 0.50m and 0.53m in height respectively separated by a three moulded bandhana measuring 0.25m in height. The bandhana measures 0.57m and consists of five moldings. The gandi and mastaka appear quite plain with no sculptural designs, and measures 2.25m wide and 1.05m in height.

Bhubaneswar is well linked to the rest of India through many State and national highways. The New Bus Stand at Bhubaneswar is the nearest to reach this temple. This bus stop is on the NH5, at Baramunda which is about 6 km from town centre.
