Built in 1801, the Madhavji mandir is the private shrine of the Raja of Miraj and it is located in the Miraj fort area. Two compound walls surround the temple, where the outer wall is smaller than the inner wall. A small shrine is dedicated to Garud in the spacious courtyard. The temple stands opposite the Raja's mansion and is used by the royal family on festive occasions. 22 pillars support the temple mandap, out of which 12 are embedded in the side walls. 5 arches between 6 pillars decorate the 3 ft high image chamber and has good sculpted designs. A four handed idol of Narayan and Lakshmi are placed on a pedestal in the image chamber. A sikhar adorns the gabhara.
