Overview
Thiruvalloor Mahadeva Temple is situated in Thiruvaloor kara of Alangad Village, in Ernakulam, Kerala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is listed among the famous 108 Siva temples in Kerala, India.
About The Temple
Thiruvalloor Mahadeva Temple, The idol here is believed to be an Agni Pratishta, with Lord Siva's third eye open. The pond is situated in the east direction of the temple in line with the idol, in Sree kovil. It is believed that this is because, the fire (Agni) emitting from the idol can be harmful to people. In order to smoothen that effect the pond is constructed in that way.
The other idol in the temple is Lord Ganapati. Also as a subsidiary of Thiruvalloor Mahadeva Temple, Keezhanikavu is situated very next to the temple, having Vishnu, Bhagavati and Nagas as idols.
