Overview
The Asramam Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is dedicated to Sree krishna and is in the district of Kollam, Kerala. Lord Krishna is in the form of Navaneet Krishnan. The temple sits on the top of a mount created by digging earth from a nearby place, which now forms the temple pond.
About The Temple
The temple is on the shores of Ashtamudi Lake. It is among the most prominent temples in Kollam. The main deity is Lord Sreekrishna with butter in both palms. Arattu mahotsavam(Festival) of this temple is very famous and is known as Kollam pooram Kollam pooram is annually held in Asramam maidan(Ground)
Festivals
Kollam Pooram is among the most colourful festivals in Kerala. Pooram attracts many people from all parts of the State. The Kollam Pooram, organised in connection with the annual festival of the Asramam Sri Krishnaswamy Temple, will be held at the Asramam Maidanam in the month of April. Kollam Pooram has now assumed the status of a national festival attracting tourists in large numbers.
