Overview
The Cheruvathur Mahadeva Temple is situated at the Cheruvathur village in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. Situated at close proximity to the town of Kunnamkulam, this temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva.
About the Temple
The temple is spread over a vast land and houses a circular Sreekovil with a small Namaskara Mandapa in the front. A big Balikallu (sacrificial stone) and a temple pond is also found within the temple complex. The presiding deity of this temple is Lord Shiva who is seen facing the pond. There is one another Siva temple in a nearby locality named Punnathur where the god graces as a Swayambu.
