The abishekam commences with the traditional lighting of the lamp and getting the diety ready for the ritual. Starting with water, the other dravyas is milk that is poured simultaneously chanting the mantras. On completion of the abishekam, the ritual of drying the diety follows. Finally the diety is decked with the flowers offered by the devotee.
