Kanchipuram is one of the seven Tirtha (pilgrimage) sites, to quench your spiritual thirst. The city houses Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple, and Kumarakottam Temple which are some of major Hindu temples in the state. 14 of the 108 Divya desam of Lord Vishnu are located at Kancheepuram. It is well known for Hand woven silk sarees. People visiting Kancheepuram must plan to leave early in the morning as most of the temples are closed between 12 noon and 4.30 p.m. Devotees can spend their afternoon session in the Kanchi Mutt. Devotees can drop in at Hotel Saravana Bhavan for lunch.
