Abhishekam
Abhishekams help propitiating deities and solicit blessings and protection. One of the most popular Hindu worship ritual, Abhishekams are also performed to show gratitude for what the deity has bestowed on the devotee. The ritual is conducted by priests, by pouring libations on the image of the deity amidst the chanting of mantras. Milk, yoghurt, ghee, honey, oil, rosewater, sandalwood are popularly used as libations.
