The Alankara Chelvi Amman Temple is located in Vasavapuram and is dedicated to Alankara Chelvi Amman. The temple was built during the Pandya period in Vasavapuram. Amman graces her devotees in the form of mother Kali. Though the deity has all the features of Kali, the idol has a calm and smiling demeanour with four hands gracing the devotees. The hands hold Udukkai, Pasam the rope, trident and the skull. The other shrines in thistemple are for Madan, Madathi and Bhairava. The temple of Sri Kalaiamman considered as the sister of Alankara Chelvi Amman is just 200 feet away from here.
