The Angala Parameswari Temple is located in Ramapuram and is dedicated to Angala Parameswari. In this temple, Mother Goddess appears as a women suffering from labour pain lying with her mouth open. The temple also includes separate shrines for God Vinayaka, God Nataraja (Thandavarayan) and Angala Parameswari. A suyambu ant - hill, Goddess Karumari, God Vinayakar and Nagadevadaigal (A serpent deities) are under the tree. The Goddess is also known as Poongavanathu Amman. The place of evil spirits is Poongavanam. One farmer called Ponmeni felt it was better to fail and die in a day than dying each day. One night he saw an old man and an aged woman. The old woman needed water to drink. Ponmeni helped the old man get water for her. When he returned with water, he found that both the woman and man had disappeared. When Ponmeni resumed tilling his land only to find that the plough had become stuck and the spot began to bleed. He heard a voice assuring him of safety saying 'I am Angala Parameswari who came in the guise of the aged woman. Responding to your prayer, I came with God Shiva. You will be relieved of poverty , continue worshiping me and the God'.
