The Anjel Perumal Temple is located in Agaram and is dedicated to Anjal Perumal. The prime deity of this temple Shri Anjel Perumal faces the east and the procession deity blesses devotees with Mothers Sri Devi and Sri Bhoodevi. There are shrines in this temple for Mahaganapathy, Dharmasastha and God Krishna. According to legends in the village of Agaram lived a theatre artist named Mithrasaga who spread the God's name through the whole country through his Dasavatara recitals. One day he performed the same in Kashmir in the presence of King Kungumangadhan and princess Chandramalini. The princess fell in love with him and with the acceptance of the families the marriage took place in all grandeur. They both lived a blissful life and by the end of it they built a hermitage and absorbed themselves in offering service to the God. God Narayana happy with their pure life offered His darshan on a Dwadasi day (12th day from the new moon or full moon day) on Masi month (February - March) and taught them the great "Ohm Namo Baghavate Vasudevaya" mantra.
