Overview
Ranganath temple in mulla sahib Street in Sowcarpet area is one such old and popular temple of Chennai city. Ranganathar temple located in Mulla Sahib street of Sowcarpet area is around 500 years old. Ranganath, Mahavishnu in the reclining posture along with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi is the main deity of the temple. The main Goddess of the temple, Ranganayaki is available in a separate shrine. The temple also houses shrines and idols of Andal, Hanuman, Garud, Rama-Lakshman-Sita Yoga Narasimha, Varadarajar, Srinivasa and Kannan (Krishna).
