Overview
The temple is situated at confluence spot of River Bhavani and River Cauvery. This is one of 275 Siva Devara sthalam. The place is about 60kms from Salem. Sangameshwarar Temple is an old one. The intersection of three waterways Kaveri, and amirtha nathi meet at one spot of the temple. So the spot of bhavani Eswarar is called as Sangameshwarar. The spot of bhavani is called as nayanmar's melodies as Thirunana. The heavenly temple was commended by nayanmar Thirunanasampathar and Thiruppugal Arunagirinathar. This spots is known as parikar Thalam. So in the temple's south place of koodudurai the purokits(clerics) performing poojas ie; parikara like nagadhosa, Sevvaidhosa, Marriage dhosa, Navagraha dhosa and different dhosas. This spot bhavani is arranged in Erode District. Bhavani Sangameshwarar temple is an ancient one. The confluence of three rivers Kaveri, and amirtha nathi meet at one place of the temple. So the place of bhavani Eswarar is called as Sangameshwarar.

The same celebration in Aadi ammavaasai(Full moon day) and Aadippuram in this temple.
In this month Vinayakar sathurthi is celebrated and specially for Kottai Vinayakar temple(in front of rajakopuram) celebrated in a grand manner(Abhisegam&poojas). Other special poojas like Aavani Avitam,Varalaximi Viratham,Kokulasdami and Krishnajainthi. In this month Navarathiri pooja is celebrated for Vethanayaki amman Temple. This pooja is celebrated by nine days. In this month every saturday special pooja's for Perumaal. On the day of Deepavali celebrated with different poojas. The Kandhar Shasti festival is celebrated in Subramaniyar temple name as "Surashamgra Vizha" and the famous Annabhisegam procession for Sangameswarar celebrated on new moon day of this month. Karthikai Deepam festival is celebrated in Sivan temple and Perumaal Temple. Special poojas for Sangameswarar and Vethanayaki amman at the day of "Soma Vaaram". "Gowsiga Agathasi" is celebrated in sangameswarar temple. "Vaikunda Agathasi" is celebrated in Aathikesavapperumaal Temple. Special day in this month is full moon day ,Thaipusam and Sangaranthi pongal. The day after Sangaranthi many people and their family's assembled at the place of "Anaithoppu" and eat food name as" cithira annam".
Massi Maga Natsathiram and Sivaraathiri is very special for this temple. At the day of sivaraathiri arulmigu sangameswarar temple door open for 24 hours. SriRama Navami is celebrated in Perumaal Temple. Panguni uttharam is very special(poojas) for Lord Murugan temple. About The Temple
Raja Gopuram(Primary Tower) of the Temple is facing north. Kottai(Fort) Vinayagar and Kottai (Fort) Anjaneyar appear at the side of the Tower in the front. Behind the Tower, Raja Vinayagar at the western side and Muthukumarswamy at the Eastern side are also there. Then at the Western side, the temples of Adhikesava Perumal and Soundaravalli Goddess are lying. Between them, Yoga Lakshmi Narasimhar Sannathi lies. Venugopal Swamy Sannathi is at the Northern side of Ranga Mantap. Apart from Sangameswarar Sannithi, there are also other Sannithis for the Gods like Murugan, Adhi Kesava Perumal, Soundaravalli Thayar, Goddesses Vedhanayaki, Deities like Raja Ganapathi, Muthukumaraswami allies Kalyana Subramaniar, Jothilingam, Kasi Viswanathar, Visalakshi, Amirthalingam, Lakshmii Narasimhar and Jeshtadevi are lying here.
In front of Adhikesava Perumal, Soundaravalli Goddess Sannithii, there is a Mantap. The deities and sculptures of Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman and others at the three sides of this Mantap and other sculptures like Rajalakshmi, Dasavatharam, Crowning of Ram attract not only the eyes but also the hearts of every one. Legend/Story
The sthala purana says once Kuberan was going by spots. When he was crossing this spot, he saw part of Rishi, and Muni penancing here. All creatures were agreeable with one another. He felt great vibration of this spot and began penancing here. Ruler Siva and Perumal were satisfied with Kubera, and subsequently swayambu Lingam went under the Sthala Vruksham. Kubera heard a voice which said he can ask for a boon. Kubera heard a voice which said he can request an aid. Kubera wished the spot to be known as Alagesan and the sthala ought to be a gift put and satisfy the wishes of enthusiasts. Vishnu additionally stayed in this spot as Adi Kesava Perumal.
