The Arulmighu Vinayakar Temple is located in Eechanari and is dedicated to God Vinayaga. The deity of this temple was actually made for the installation at Perur, Arulmighu Patteswarar Temple. The cart carrying deity was struck down at this place from Madurai and Eachanari became the blessed place of God Vinayaga. The Vinayagar in this place is called as "Eachanari Vinayagar", one of the famous Vinayagar of whole Tamilnadu. It is said that when the Vinayaga idol measuring 6 feet high and 3 feet in diameter was being transported from Madurai in a cart for installation at Patteeswarar Temple, Perur, the axle of the cart broke and it became scated in the place where it is now. Efforts to remove the idol to perur did not materialize and this place where the God Graces is popularly known as Eachanari Vinayaga Temple. Under the Presidentship of Sri. N. Mahalingam and the vice presidentship of Shri. P. K. Duraisamy the renovation committee, renovated the present temple and the consecration ceremony was conducted with in the splendor presence of Kanchi Kamakodi Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. The deity of this temple was actually made for the installation at Perur, Arulmighu Patteswarar Temple. The cart carrying deity was struck down at this place from Madurai and Eachanari became the blessed place of Lord Vinayaga. So, the Vinayagar in this place is called as "Eachanari Vinayagar", one of the famous Vinayagar of whole Tamilnadu.
