Overview
Aruvipuram is a village in the southern district of Trivandrum in Kerala, India. It is famous for the Shiva temple established by Sri Narayana Guru. The Guru consecrated the Shiva idol, the first non Brahmin to do so in Kerala society. Aruvipuram Shivarathri is a very popular event attended by a large numbers of devotees and followers of Guru. Shivarathri also marks the anniversary of the Aruvipuram Shiva temple. Kuduthooki Mala is a rocky hill nearby the Aruvipuram Shiva temple. There is a cave on top of this hill, where Guru used to visit for rest and meditation tapas.

The annual festival of the temple is being conducted for ten days in connection with Shivarathri.
