Built in the days of Nizam-ul-Mulk Asaf Jha, the Balaji temple has a Persian charter by Raja Durjan Singh and another charter by Sardar Rajgopal Singh Guru Khandarhar. The Persian charter is dated Pasli 1180 and the other charter is dated Pasli 1182 respectively. The black stone idol of Balaji is similar to that in Tirupati. Apart from this idol, a small panchdhatu (five metals) Balaji idol is also present in the temple. A kund, which is generally dry but filled with water during Navaratra is present below the mandir.
