This temple is situated at the meeting point of the river Godavari and the small Sarasvati stream and hence is considered to be very holy. Stone arches face the front of the river and the way to the temple has been paved in the riverbed. The upper story of the temple is reached by climbing a flight of 30 stairs. The shrine is situated west of the 50 sq ft court, inside the temple. The shape of the shrine resembles a nave and has two aisles, with a chancel at the west end. Scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Puranas cover parts of the walls of the outer hall. A small copper idol of Balaji, flanked by Ramadevi and Lakshmi to his right and left respectively, are present in the shrine. Bappaji Bava Gosavi, son of Trimbak Bava, a Vir Vaishnav, built this temple in 1771.
