Overview
The Balani Devi Temple is located on the Dehradun-Tuni motorable Road via Chakrata.
About The Temple
Originally constructed in the ‘Huna’ architectural style, the Balani Devi Temple in Chilhar is situated 1700 m above sea level and 155 km from Dehradun. The presiding deity is Goddess Balani Devi, the sister of the four main deities – Vashika, Mahasu, Pawasi and Chalda of Jaunsar Bhawar.
Festivals
The annual festival commences after Diwali. The colorful tribes of Jaunsar Bhawar participate in this festival which adds more color to this festival.

The nearest airport to the town is jolly Grant about 115 Kilo meters away from the region. The nearest railhead is located in the capital city Dehradun. Buses are available from Dehradun and Mussoorie to reach Chakrata.
