Overview
Nayarambalam is a suburb of Cochin City and coastal village on Vypin Island in Ernakulam District in the state of Kerala, India. Bhagavathy Temple is dedicated to Shakti. Goddess Bhadrakali is the principal deity. Lord Ghanda Karnan, Nagaraja, Naga Yakshi are the minor deities.
Legend And Stories
It is trusted that the sanctuary was built up in fifteenth century. Neighborhood individuals say that the sanctuary was possessed by a Brahmin family and when they cleared out the place, the responsibility for sanctuary was given over to some respectable Nair families. Verifiable proof additionally demonstrate that the sanctuary was administered by four Nair families till 1915 A.D. Some debate between the nearby individuals and the Nair chieftains created and prompted to prosecution that proceeded around five years. As per the judgment of the region court, a Nair Karayogam was built up by a meeting of devotees and Karayogam assumed responsibility of the sanctuary in 1925 A.D. This Karayogam still holds control over the sanctuary.

Three Poojas – Usha Pooja, Ucha Pooja and Athazha Pooja – are held daily.

Thalappoli festival that celebrated for 6 days in the month of Makaram (January-February) is the important festival. It is a regional festival.
