The Vaishno Devi Temple is a Devi Temple located in the mounts of Jammu Kashmir, off Katra.The Vaishno Devi temple is the most influential temples of Goddess Shakti in India since this temple has a Goddess with all the three supremacies of Rajas, Tamas and Sattvas. According to the legend, Sridhar was a poor Brahmin who survived in township Hansali near Katra about seven hundred ages ago. Sridhar had no child and therefore, he passionately adored the Goddess hoping to get a child of his own. As a part of his everyday customary he implemented 'Kanya Pujan' to satisfy the Goddess. One day while Sridhar was performing the 'Kanya Pujan' a girl who is new to his village appeared and advised him to hold a Bhandara (community meal) for all the villagers the next day. The girl guaranteed him that by performing the same all his valued visions shall come true. Saying so the enigmatic girl vanished. Sridhar was puzzled by the bizarre arrival of the unidentified girl and decided to do as asked for by the girl in spite that he was a very poor Brahmin. He invited not only every resident from the Bhandara but also Guru Gorakhnath and his followers whom it was supposed that not even Lord Indra had been able to please. When the momentous day commenced, the concerned Sridhar was thankful to see the strange girl again, who inculcated him to ask each and every invitee to get settled in the small little hut of Sridhar. To the complete skepticism of Sridhar as the invitee’s began to take their place inside the small hut, there always seem like to be some space for extra people. After each one was settled the girl herself arose to serve the food of their prime to everybody. Seated among the guests was a follower of guru Gorakhnath named Bhairon Nath who on his turn requested the blessed girl to serve him meat and wine. When the girl declined to offer him these items in the house of a Brahamin, Bhairon Nath got frustrated and grabbed her hand. The girl instantly with her powers disappeared from the scene and continued to the colossal Trikuta Hills. Bhairon Nath in order make certain the reality of this mysterious girl and to put to examine her powers, went after her. The holy girl passed through Banganga, Charan Paduka, Ardhkwari, and then grasped the holiest of the holy cave located among the bends of the Trikuta hills. When Bhairon Nath sustained to trail her even though the the girl (who was the Goddess) trying to evade a confrontation, she was bound to kill him. Bhairon Nath met his eventual destiny when the Goddess, just outdoor the opening of the cave, decapitated him. The detached head of the Bhairon Nath fell with a force at an aloof hilltop. The Bhairon Nath upon death understood the pointlessness of his duty and asked her to exonerate him. The almighty 'Mata' had pity on Bhairon and gave him a blessing that every follower of the Goddess would have to receive his Darshans after getting darshan of the Goddess and only then would the yatra of a follower be considered whole. In the the time being, Sridhar was dejected by the whole incident and in a fit of misery forsook food refused to eat. One day he had a vision of the same girl who voiced him that she was Vaishno Devi and displayed him the hallucination of her cave and also sanctified him with the blessing of 4 sons. Sridhar, pleased once again, set out in pursuit of the cave, and after discovering it he decided to devote the rest of his lifetime at the foot of this cave in adoration of the divinity. Soon the reputation of the holy cave spread, and the devotees began to gather to pay their worship to the mighty Goddess. Here, Meri Maiya is represented by four idols. Bhramari and Bhima Devi are treasured on the right side of Shakumbhari Devi, also known as Sheetla Devi. In fact all these names signify the same deity, who incarnated herself with different names in different ages. In Hinduism, Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a demonstration of the Mother Goddess. The words ''maa'' and ''mata'' are frequently used in India for ''mother'', and thus frequently used in association with Vaishno Devi. Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holy Hindu temples devoted to Shakti, situated at the Trikuta Foothills within the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Vaishno Devi Temple is nearby the settlement of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir in the Reasi district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most well-regarded places of worship in India. The monument is at an elevation of 5300 feet and a aloofness of about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Katra. About 8 million pilgrims (yatris) stopover the temple every year and it is the second most visited spiritual memorial in India, after Tirumala Venkateswara Shrine. The Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board preserves the shrine. A rail connection from Udhampur to Katra has been just completed to enable pilgrimage. The adjacent airport is Jammu Airport which has very high flying frequency, and is aided by all leading local carriers. This abode contains three idols of Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Kali, which are all imageries of Vaishno Devi.
