Overview
The Champakadhama Swamy temple is a Hindu shrine devoted to Lord Vishnu. The temple is believed to be one among the oldest temples of Bangalore, Karnataka. This historically significant temple is believed to be from the period of the Cholas.
About the Temple
This historical temple belongs to the 12th century AD. Some of the inscriptions found in this place, reveals that the Champakadhama Temple was built by Tamilarasa, a Hoysala king in the year 1257. One can also find writing near the entrance of this temple pertaining to the 12th century. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple houses the idols of Lord Champakadhama along with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Bhoodevi.
Pilgrims also visit the shrines dedicated to Lord Narasimha and Lord Sampangi that is situated on the hillock behind the Champakadhama temple.

The temple festival (utsav) is celebrated every year in the month of March or April.
