Overview
Chinna Kadai Mariamman Temple is located at the junction of NSC Bose Road and Mint Street in Sowcarpet area. The distance of the temple from Central Railways Station is hardly 105 KM. This place can be reached either by auto rickshaw or Cycle rickshaw.
About the Temple
The temple is over 200 years old. Though it is very small, the Goddess is considered very powerful and it is always crowded. The main shrine of the temple has two idols Mariamman idol ( in the typical iconography where only the head of the woman deity is present) and another idol with full human body ( renuka Parameswari).
Significance
Hanging a garland of a lemon with 7 green chillies at house entrance after the pooja here will remove all the dhrishties and bad vibrations.
