This temple is situated in Kappiset, 3 kms away from Pulpally town. Till 1964, there was only a sacred banyan tree in this spot which was protected and worshipped by tribes. When so many people migrated to Kappiset, from faraway places, they thought of constructing a temple here. A saint who came from North India stayed here for a short while. It is believed that a devotee named Govindan had a dream the day before Shivrathri in which Lord Shiva appeared in front of him. The next day he dipped in nearby river and came up with a Shiva Linga. This was taken to the spot and consecrated in the presence of three sanyasins who came there.

Meaning -According to this sloka, the entire world doesn't recognize the eternal God beyond them, because they are consumed by the elements of satva, rajas and tamas (good, obssessive and dark).

Meaning -According to this sloka, the heavenly maya of God is very complicated, but those who worship God will be able to overcome it.
