According to legend, Seetha and her children Lava and Kusha, on their way to Pulpally, stopped at Eriyappally to quench their thirst. An elder person of a Chetty family gave them fresh tender coconut water and they were really happy and satisfied. This temple is closely connected to the main Seetha temple in Pulpally. Tender coconuts are carried on head load to Seetha temple from Eriyappally with devotion during the temple festival. This temple is managed by the followers of the old Chetty chief.
