The International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 & since then the movement has spread globally with over 500 temples and around 2, 50, 000 devotees. The objective of the society is to promote well being of the society through teachings of Lord Krishna as envisaged in Bhagwat Gita & other ancient Vedic scriptures of India. This branch of ISKCON was established about 12 years back in the building donated by Kashi King. Earlier there were small statues of Radha-Krishna enshrined in the temple which have been replaced now by magnificent idols in 2002. Presently regular puja is performed by 6 priests. A committee looks after the administration of the temple. Various programmes are organized here on Janmashtami day.
