Sri Jeshoreshwari Temple of Goddess Kali is situated in Ishwaripur town of Shyamanagar sub locale in Satkhira, Bangladesh. God Shiva ( called as Chanda) is loved here alongside the goddess. This temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas( places) crosswise over South Asia. The mythology expresses that when Goddess Sati saw her spouse God Shiva's affront by her dad, Daksha Prajapati amid a yagna, she hopped into the flame and yielded herself. Anguished and furious, God Shiva hit the dancefloor with fierceness holding Goddess Sati's dead body. It is said that amid the move( Rudra Tandava) her body parts were scattered around the spot. Wherever a section fell that place came to be called as a Shakti Peetha. It is trusted that the palm of Sati's hand had fallen here in Sri Jeshoreshwari temple. A minister by name Anari fabricated this temple which was later revamped and modified by ruler Pratapaditya and Lakshman Sen. The temple's claim to fame is it has 100 entryways.
