Kali temple

The Kali Temple is dedicated to Kali and is located in Jharkhand, India. Lilori Sthan, near Katras is famous for its ancient Kali temple. This temple has gained lot of fame with many tourists visiting and marveling at its ancient presence in the small town of Katras. Katras is located very close to the city of Dhanbad and about 22 kilometres from Dhanbad railway station. The temple belonged to the goddess Lilori who was worshipped as a major deity by the local king of the area. This deity is considered as the avatar of Goddess Kali. The devotees offer meat to the deity and practice of sacrificing an animal in the temple complex to please the deity is performed. The marriages of the local couples in the area is performed in the complex of the temple since this temples is considered sacred for the Hindu community. The temple complex in the current times is not hygienic. During the wedding season the temple is visited by thousands of people and thus the temple is left unclean by these visitors and the little amount of water in the temple complex also gets dirty. People invited in the marriage dispose of their wastes in the temple complex thus leaving the vicinity of the temple.
