Overview
Kalubaai Mandhar Devi temple is located near Wai in Satara District of Maharashtra, India. Located on a hill 4650 feet above sea level, the temple overlooks the picturesque Purandar fort. The title of the land is in the name of Lord Mandeshwara and Kaleshwari Devi.
About The Temple
Kalubaai Mandhar Devi temple had been constructed before Chathrapathi Shivaji regime. Kalubaai Mandhar Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Kaleshwari Devi. Kaleshwari Devi is also known as Aaisaheb Kalubaai. The idol of Kalubaai sports two silver masks and silk clothes.
Kalubaai Jatra Pilgrimage
The temple is popular among those who undertake the annual Kalubaai Jatra pilgrimage over a ten-day period every January. The principle event is a 24-hour-long festival on the day of full moon that includes animal sacrifice. The goddess is offered puran poli (a sweetmeat) and curd rice.
