This temple is around six hundred years old reached at the top of fifty steps. The Temples is near Rama Kund. There is no representation of Nandi in front of the Shiva shrine. Kapaleshwar Temple situated at Nasik in Maharashtra is said to be the oldest temple in Nasik. It lies on the bank of river Godavari near Ramkund. Usually every Mahadeva temple has a Nandi (the vehicle of Lord Shiva) but the peculiar feature of this temple is that it does not have a Nandi idol.
