Overview
Kariyamanika Perumal Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is located at Parasurama Eswaran Koil Main 1st St, Ayanavaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In Ayanavaram, Chennai there is a 1000 year old Parasurama Lingeswarar temple as well as Kariyamanika Perumal temple located next to that.
About The Temple
Kariyamanika Perumal Temple is also one of the oldest temples in Chennai. The temple is very small. It has Raja Gopuram (temple tower). The main shrine has Kariyamanika Perumal (Vishnu) along with his two consorts, Sri Devi (Lakshmi) and Bhoo Devi on either sides. Opposite to the main shrine, there is gajastambha and an idol of Garuda. The corridor has the shrine of goddess Kanakavalli. Kanakavalli's idol is very beautiful and the goddess is in sitting posture. The temple also houses the shrines of Andal and Hanuman.
