Kengal Anjaneya Swami Temple is located in Vandaraguppe village near Channapatna, Karnataka. The presiding deity of Anjaneya Swami in the temple is five - and - half - foot tall with a moustache on His face. As per some legend, sage Vyasaraya installed the idol with some rituals after realizing the special properties of a rock which looked like the monkey God, Hanuman. A huge Pushkarini (scared water tank) is located in the temple premises. The temple is 55 kms from Bangalore and is just off the Bangalore - Mysore State Highway that is on the way to Channapatna from Bangalore. The "Kengal Anjaneya Swami Jatre" in January every year is something to watch out for. Thousands of devotees throng here for this occasion.
