Kowdiar Mahadevar Temple, a famous shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated close to the Nirmala Bhavan School at Kowdiar in Thiruvananthapuram. Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa and snake gods are also worshiped here. Kowdiar Palace and Peroor Sree Krishna Swamy Temple (1 km) are situated nearby. Kowdiar Mahadevar Temple is around 6 kms from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station. The temple witnesses a heavy influx of devotees during its annual festival held in the month of December or January. Ganapathy Homa, Mrityunjaya Homa and Archana are the main offerings.
