The Lakshmi Narayanan Temple is located in Arera Hills and is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi Narayanan. This temple is situated on top of the Arera hills, the tallest place in Bhopal. The temple offers a beautiful view of the city. The temple also has a beautiful shrine for God Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, other than a shrine for Goddess Lakshmi and God Vishnu. The Laxmi Narayan Temple is built in honour of the Hindu divinity of Wealth, Goddess Lakshmi, and her heavenly consort, Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe, who is also acknowledged as Narayana.Other deity in the temple includes God Shiva and his wife Parvathi. Bordered by foliage and noticeable with an antique appeal, this temple remains a favorite place to visit in Bhopal. The structure of the temple is sandy-yellowish in colour and has an antique-worldly charisma of itself. The face of the structure is a vast turret, while extensive lawns encircle the compound from other sides. Entry of this shrine is through a glorious archway. Besides spiritual travelers, this temple is frequently visited by citizens of Bhopal. The complex also houses a museum. The holy place, with its antique appeal and the contiguous greenery of the long-winded lawns adds to the beauty of the place. Devotees come to the temple to obtain the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. The opening of the temple has a fabulous cloisters adding up to its architectural grandeur. On one face of the temple has a vast steeple. The entry way to the Laxmi Narayan Temple or the Birla Temple is through a gorgeous arch which is bounded by lush green lawns. Besides, this holy place as well has a splendid deity of a reclining Shiva with his wife, Parvati. The Vaishnavite temple provides beautiful sight of the city. The tranquil ambiance of this glorious place of worship gives devout comfort to the devotees. There is a Birla Museum close by to the Laxmi Narayan temple which houses impressive sculptures from the 12th century era of Madhya Pradesh. The Birla Museum has a beautiful collection of sculptures and artifacts collected from the towns and districts of Madhya Pradesh namely, Shahdol, Raisen, Mandsaur and Sehore. You can find many stone craved sculptured belonging to Paramara dynasty as during their rule art and ethnicity flourished in the area. The Lakshmi Narayana Temple or Birla Temple is set atop of Arera Hills and is bounded by well-maintained lawns with fountain and abundant decorative and blossoming plants. The extensive lawns encircle the compound enhancing its picturesque charisma.
