Lakshmi Narayanar Temple

This temple was built by Kulothunga Chola III 750 years ago in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Due to successive invasions the temple lost its popularity. The temple was renovated after the villagers started facing severe problems in their daily lives. The renovation was done as per the agama rules and festivals like Brahmotsav are meticulously followed. Sri Srinivasa Perumal blesses his devotees along with his consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi. The temple has a shrine for the Sudarshana chakra (discus) that washes our sins away. The tower above the sanctum sanctorum has Lord Krishna and passing the flag post (known as Kodimaram in Tamil and Dwajasthamba in Sanskrit), the devotees will have the darshan of Garuda and the Dwarapalakas - the securities. This temple was built 750 years ago in Andhra Pradesh by Kulothunga Chola III. With successive invasion the temple began losing its fame. Due to the failure of monsoon, the villagers were struck by famine and they had to migrate to other fertile places to continue with their agriculture and cattle rearing, thus abandoning the temple. Many of them were confused as to the turn of events and met at a place to discuss it. That is when they heard a voice from the sky that said, If you begin your nithya pujas and the abishek as before I will shower my grace on the village again. Your generations will become happier. Your cattle will be healthy and grow in numbers. Famine will disappear. I will clean you from your sins and protect you". The temple was then renovated according to the agama rules and since then every festival and puja including the Brahmotsav is followed meticulously.
