The Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy temple is located on the Mysore - Krishnarajasagar road in Mysore District. This temple, built in 1936, is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. The idol of the deity was found in a nearby place called Thirumalasagar by a devotee named Chikkanna, who served in the temple management trust. The Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy temple conforms to south Indian temple architecture. Apart from the usual gopura (tower) and hall, it features a tall flagstaff called Garuda Khamba and a chariot. The annual Brahmotsavam is celebrated in a grand manner for 12 days. The temple rites start in early morning with the recital of the Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam, a devotional song. According to common belief, a devotee uttering this prayer every morning will be blessed with prosperity by the lord.
